    Hindu Temple Diwali Celebrations

     
    Dear Devotees,

    The Hindu Temple will be celebrating the Diwali festival on Monday, October 20. The Temple will be open from 8:30 am to 9:30 pm for Darshan, Aarti, and Prasad.
    The Chopda Pooja will be conducted (online only) from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Please call the temple or reply to this email  to confirm your participation.


    IMPORTANT:


    To ensure safe and enjoyable Diwali celebration for everyone, we request your cooperation and adherence to the following protocols:
    Devotees inside the Temple, especially in the Mahamandap, will be allowed only  for a brief duration. Please follow the instructions of our volunteers and ensure constant movement to avoid overcrowding and ensure the safety of all attendees.
    Following Darshan inside the Temple, please move toward the Gopuram Dwar for Aarti and Prasad. We request you then exit the parking area swiftly, allowing other devotees the opportunity to park and enter the Temple.
    Kindly ensure that your vehicle is parked properly and does not block any other vehicle. Please follow the guidance of our volunteers who will assist with parking.
    Please refrain from bringing any fireworks to the temple. The Temple does not have a permit for fireworks from the city of Ottawa. Police and security guards will strictly enforce this rule to avoid any fire hazard and damage to parked  cars.
    We sincerely thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding in prioritizing  safety.

    Please note that the weekly Shivabhishekam on Mondays will not be performed.

  8. South India Cultural Association (SICA) is pleased to present a Carnatic vocal concert, featuring Akshara Samskriti on vocal, Anjana Srinivasan on violin and Myan (pronounced like "maya" with an n) Sudharsanan on mridangam.

     

    The event will take place on Saturday, November 15 at Britannia United Church (985 Pinecrest Road), starting at 6 pm.

     

    General admission is $25 per person. There are discounts for groups and students.

    Admission is free for 2025 SICA members.
