    Ø A series of seminars on health related issues every second Sunday of the month from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

    Burden of chronic diseases (Cardiovascular disease, Cancer, Mental disease and lung diseases) have serious implication in our daily life. Most of these diseases can be prevented if we make an effort to understand the causes of these problems. Is it the genes or the aging process or the gender or the ethnicity, which one is the cause of these problems? Maybe it is related to mostly the way we live daily life (food, physical activity). This is the topic of our next health seminar as detailed below.

    1. What are the various myths about diet?

    2. Basic information about diet.

    3. Basic information about physical activity.

     

    Note: Please note that our health seminars are usually held on the 2nd Sunday of each month. This seminar is, however, on the 3rd Sunday (October 15) because the hall is not available on October 8.

     

    This is a reminder that the Temple Anniversary will be conducted on this Saturday and Sunday, October 7 & 8, with various programs. There will be both morning and evening programs on Saturday, in the morning starting from 9 am to noon and in the evening from 6 pm – 8 pm.

     

    Diwali Festival will be celebrated at the temple on Thursday, October 19, 2017.

    7.00 - 8.00 pm         Lighting of the lamps, Lakshmi pooja, Saraswati pooja, Chopda pooja

    8.00 - 9.00 pm         Bhajans in the Gita Bhawan

    9.00 pm                    Arati (in the Mahamandap and Gita Bhawan simultaneously)

     

    Prasad will be distributed near the exit. Sparklers will be available for the children after the Arati.

  7. The Hindu Temple of Ottawa-Carleton on 4835 Bank Street is happy to announce that the Bal Mandir Program has once again started. It is held every Sunday from 12:10 PM to 1:00 PM in the lower meeting room. The program consists of a variety of exciting activities for children, including reflection on upcoming festivals and events in the Hindu calendar, discussions on cultural aspects of Indian culture, stories, crafts, and more.
