  4. Please join HINDU TEMPLE at 4835 Bank Street in Ottawa for:

    Ø A series of seminars on health related issues every second Sunday of the month from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

    Ganesh Sthapana will be performed on Thursday, August 24 from 9:15 AM to10:30 AM in the Gita Bhawan, and Ganesh Visarjan will be held on Sunday, August 27 from 2:15 PM to 2:45 PM.

     

    During Visarjan ceremony, Lord Ganesh will be taken in procession from the Gita Bhavan for the Parikramana around the Temple and brought back to the Gita Bhavan.

     

    All devotees are invited to participate in the celebration.

  6. The Hindu Temple of Ottawa-Carleton on 4835 Bank Street is happy to announce that the Bal Mandir Program has once again started. It is held every Sunday from 12:10 PM to 1:00 PM in the lower meeting room. The program consists of a variety of exciting activities for children, including reflection on upcoming festivals and events in the Hindu calendar, discussions on cultural aspects of Indian culture, stories, crafts, and more. Everyone is welcome.

    On popular demand, in collaboration with our partner Deshantari, we have decided to have a basic computer training workshop on the same lines as we had last year.
     
    This workshop will be held at Tanglewood Park Community Centre, 30 Woodfield Drive, Ottawa from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm on 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th August, 2017 (All Wednesdays).

    Classes will cover the following:
     
    Class 1 Email and Internet
    Internet: (what is internet, Types of browsers, homepage, safety on internet, searching for information, downloading information, hyperlinks).
    Email: (what is email, various types of email, service providers, email etiquette, email safety, sending and receiving attachments in email, downloading and saving attachments)

    Class 2  Facebook and Youtube
    Facebook: (what is social media, facebook account creation, how to post on facebook, comments on facebook, safety and privacy settings)
    Youtube: (how to search for audio / video on youtube, uploading on youtube)

    Class 3 Smart Phones 
    Smartphones: (What is a smartphone, meaning of various icons on the screen, making phone calls, saving contacts, viewing call history, what are apps, downloading apps, safety).

    Class 4 Tablets (iPad and Android)
    (what are tablets, how are they different from smartphones, meaning of icons etc on the screen, safety, downloading and saving, using apps)

    Please note that we can accommodate only 20 persons for this workshop and there will be a nominal registration fee of $ 5.00 for complete workshop of 4 modules.
